cart-poker and spideys

today was quite the eventful day.

i woke up with a spider bite on my ankle.
literally 3 minutes later, i almost stepped on a HOBO spider that was chillin on my floor. (hey ps, HOBO spiders are killers. they are venemous and hideous. i dare you to google them. i'd post a picture of them on here, but wouldnt want to post such an ugly thing on my pretty little blurg. they are THAT ugly.)
this spider was....big. like...its butt alone was the size of a penny. :/
(and mind you, insects freak me out, but im not a huge sissy when it comes to them. like, i would kill cockroaches all the time with my super-freezing hairspray in hawaii, and it was NBD. i'd even pick them up when they were in a hair-spray coma and flush them down the toilet.... but killer spiders!? NOT OKAY.)
i froze in fear, and then speedily ran across my room to grab the RAID.

i then zinged that sucker with spider spray. it took way too long for my liking, so i promptly went to walmart to get some heavy duty stuff. all i found was weak crappy spray and i wasnt about to spend 6 bucks on another can of mediocre RAID that pissed me off in the first place.

picking up a few lunchables and some chocolate soymilk, i made my way to the cash register. the line was OOBER long...so i picked up some chips right next to the checkoutstand...read about princess kate over a lady's shoulder in OK mag...and then paroozed through a discount cart that just seemed to sneak up behind me. you  know, those huge discount bins they put by the checkout stand..holding delicious french bread for 98 cents...candy for 50 cents.. discounted this and that for 10 cents....

well...i thought it a bit funny that they would have a cart full of FROZEN food...but man, some of that stuff looked so yummy! i picked up the occasional package of frozen burritos to read the label, and meandered around it, poked here and there, and turned back around. i decided to not put anything in my cart, but almost did.

about 2 minutes later, i turned back out of boredom, only to see A LADY HOLDING ONTO THE 'DISCOUNT CART' giving me the meanest white-girl look i've ever seen.
......
wait a minute............... fml. fml. fml.
.....
she literally gave me a look as if i killed her firstborn. How was i to know that the cart belonged to someone!?! she must have been RIGHT next to it looking at a magazine or something and i must not have noticed her. OF COURSE WALMART WOULDNT HAVE FILLED A CART WITH FROZEN FOOD. CMON NICOLE, WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING!?!?...i quickly turned around, blushed, and thought about how awkawrd it would be to say, 'sorry i just poked through your cart.' i turned back around towards her to assess the situation and possibly apologize, but she just looked up from her magazine and death-glared me for the second time. awkward, party of me.

After my social failure at walmart, i headed to LOWES and got some heavy duty 'ortho home invasion insect spray' (thank you, amylee nicoll for this awesome recommendation) and made my way home. Yes, i felt like  an exterminator lugging around a huge insecticide thing spraying every nook and corner of my home with this spray... but i was not about to wake up one more morning and have a hobo spider on my pillow or camoflauging its ugly self against my carpet, too close to my feetsies. I was on a mission to kill every effing thing that had more than 2 legs.

After playing 'exterminator' for about an hour and soaking my house in chemicals, i headed to Friends of the Elderly. It was talent night..and was a hit. the best part of the night i must say, is when little 97 year old Joanna yelled out during one of the performances, 'IS THIS A MORMON CHURCH?!?' bless her and the fact that she's misplaced her hearing aide 2 weeks in a row.

and so it is now, that i ended up at the library, after being too scared to sit in my spider-infested home. I've spent the majority of the time sipping hot coco, people watching, pinteresting, facebooking, a wee bit of homework, and blogging.

today was a long day on the farm, but got lots of shiz done. i invaded a woman's personal space by paroozing through her items in her own shopping cart as well as hopefully killed many-a-spidey at my old, ugly, disgusting casa.

(and mom, i'll monitor that venomous bite. if i dont contact you within a few days, you'll know i fell victim to the venomous bugggg.)

break from 30 day..

okay. so this is what has been goin on in my life.

  • i'm doin Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. im gonna lose 20 pounds in the next while, snitches. i'm serious. no more nadeene, the fat girl. i'm 21, at my PRIME and should be beautiful and thin. so i need to lose weight, get healthy, and put on makeup for heavens sake.

  • i did squats with corbin on my back the other day. we laughed so hard.

  • friends of the elderly is going wonderfully, and i'm mad i havent blogged about it more. tonight i talked alot with a man who has polio, married 'the sweetest woman who ever lived' and gave me advice about living a happy life. i also talked with marion, born in norway and cute as a button. i just love my group. they make me so happy..i cant even tell you how glad i am i have this opportunity

  • classes are okay. lots of reading textbooks which i'm not good at...but my program is great and i'm so excited for my profession. it feels so right and i just love learning how to help people. there are so many different things i could go into...adoptions, international work, elderly care, medical, criminal, rehab groups, and sooo many more. my practicum assignment is coming up soon, (where i'll be interning next year) and i'm super excited. but when i told my dad i wanted to maybe go do juvinile probation, he said i'd get shot. ha.

  • i'm watching titanic.. and i think i should have been born back then. the dresses..the fabulous hats.. the red lipstick. COME ON!

  •  i need a job for the summer... anyone know of any sweet nanny jobs? mucho money? in a mucho awesome place?

  • for christmas i got another lovey dovey book, "Love Letters of Great Men". its great and i think i've mentioned it on here before. men back then used to be classy and they used to write letters to their loves. exerpt? sure.

My angel, I have just been told that the mailcoach goes every day - therefore I must close at once so that you may receive the letter at once - Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together - Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.

ever thine
ever mine
ever ours

sigh.

  •  today christy left a funny, but serious ad on the table for me to see.
"MISSING: Rocco the 3 legged jack-russel.
He is a special needs dog, and there will be a reward!!
He has three legs and is has a serious condition called hemophelia, so please find him!!!"
rofl

  • and, guess what i found out. random fact: the voice actress who played 'snow white' was never allowed to be in another movie by disney, because she was so ugly they didnt want snow's image to be ruined. HA. cruel.

anyways, goodbye.

Tuesday of finals

Its 2 in the morning.
I have a final tomorrow at 9.
so naturally, I'm blogging.

Today i studied for 5 hours. 3 of those being at a stats S.I. i'm going to fail that class..and i have accepted it.. but at least i tried, right? and my future hub wont care if i cant do statistics..right?

Speaking of future hubs... WHERE ARE YOU? you should think about stoping by this summer. yes? no? What are your feelings on this?

I took a sleeping pill last night at 4 in the morning because i needed sleep. i havent taken one since november! let me tell you.. MY have i missed those random dreams of monkeys riding on camels backs going to save the world. woooooweeee. such a treat for finals week.

Friends of the Elderly ended last week. We had a sing along. it was adorable... imagine all the old people just singin their little hearts out. I kept requesting all these old songs that they would know...like.. 1940's songs.. and the other volunteers where like.. what the heck? who are you? HA. maybe you don't know, my names Nicole and i basically speak/breathe OLD.

I am on the verge of tears right now due to PMS, stress, and the fact that i just ate my weight in chocolate.

Today i laughed really hard when my friend was telling me that she spilled her gatorade in her backpack...and in it was all her textbooks, ipod, phone, etc....and all she screamed out at the silent library was... "NO!!! NOT MY CALCULATORS!!!!" yes, calculators plural. hahaha. oh allie. bless your heart.

I move home on friday. My summer will consist of working as a hospice aide again. arent you so excited to hear my stories? i'm so excited to be with them again.

I guess its time for sleep.

Godspeed.
here is a picture. that i like. of my best friends.
only a few more days with these beauties :(
i'm tired.

i have confidence in sprinnnnnngtime

there is this family guy clip of stewie griffin dressed up as 'maria' from the sound of music.. and he is frollicking down a sidewalk singing, "i have confidence in springtimmmme..." so whenever spring comes around, i think of stewie as julia andrews. its wonderful. sometimes i'll just burst into a stewie griffin accent when im walking on the sidewalk and the sun is shining.

maybe you just have to see it to think its funny. whatever.
BUT.
that is why i have been MIA for a while.

cuz im so durn busy havin fun in my last weeks of school!

IT'S SPRING!

and fun things happen in springtime. and kids wear shorts and flip flops when we get a glimpse of sunshine here at USU. 60 degree weather is HEAVEN to us.

and let me tell you what we have been up to:

me and christy blew up my raft and sailed on first dam.
we basked in the sunlight and used our arms for paddles.
i saw the regular chinese fisherman on the dock that told me that the fish only like hamburger.
that joker.

we planted flowers at friends of the elderly, where ralph told us the cutest love story ever about how many miles he had to walk to get to his wifes house when they were courting. he told us he was so glad when he finally bought a bike because dating her was so much easier. his wife almost laughed till her dentures fell out. then fontella told us that her mom wouldnt let her get married because she was too young. so then, to spite her mother, she got pregnant. ha.

I LOVE OLD PEOPLE.

Now that its spring, i have seen probably 729 pregnant girls on campus. i couldn't know why. today as i was walking to the bus, i saw another one, and in my head i said.. "i see pregnant girls everywhere i go..." and then the next line that came into my head was sung by the little comic named Glen that lives inside my brain.. "i see pretty girls everywhere i go..everywhere i go.." then i saw a large, random piece of bacon sitting on the sidewalk. i had a shakefit of giggles.

me and some friends went to the pet store today. just to look.

i left my wallet home on purpose.

you know that poor little pets in small little cages are my weakness.

then we went to barnes and noble. just the smell of that place automatically gives me the smiles. i can't tell you how wonderful it is to browse through all the journals and see all the books and sit on the floor and read wonderful things.

today was day on the quad.

the sun was shining, the college students were acting rowdy, ah it was marvelous.

Then we went to our complex's spring bbq. mmmm nothin like the gool ol smell of a bbq. we also enjoyed making fun of various tools in the pool. ha. tool party pool party. la la la la.

then it was the dance & true aggie night. the only part i like about that, is they string twinklie lights up by the 'A'. its super pretty. then we get to see all the awkward kisses take place. eekkk. gotta love springtime hormones.

springspringspringspringspring.

i cant wait to ride bonnie blue bike when i move home for the summer!

spring break and also..

so, spring break is in 3 days. thank heavens. i can't tell you how bad i need a beach.

and how badly i need to be away from studying about genetics and statistics and probability and bla bla bla bla. a bunch of us all chipped in and we are renting a beach house in san diego for the week. how sweet is that? super collegey, right? we are stayin in st geezy the first night. then drivin to san diego and staying there for 6 days. then i think we are hittin up vegas on the way back! i've never been on a spring break trip before. so, i'm thuper duper excited. i was hoping i'd have a nice camera by then...but alas, the money fairy swooped into my zions account and kifed a few hundred. dunno where she went with it...but its gone. blast.

so, roadtrip here i come!

also,
friends of the elderly was funny this week. We played bingo. and yes, i was the bingo caller. I asked lavonn if she'd be there next week..and she informed me.. "yes, unless i'm lucky and i die." oh bless her heart.

also,
Lady is fine. back in ktown with my mom. being vicious.

also,
we went to the driving range today. i'm awful. but liv and kris are good.

also,
can i just tell you how wonderful my roommate/bff olivia is? I've been strugging with some things.. and i had an awful day/night and i came home from the grocery store to this:

yes there was dr. pepper, jelly beans, coloring book, sodoku book, a book of wonderful quotes, and yes the bottom of the bucket was full of reeses eggs. she knows me too well. :) she is wonderful. and so loving and such a good friend. aren't i so lucky to have such good friends? I'm so lucky to live with liv and chris and heath. :)

#79

#79 on my list of things to do before I die:
Get told a dirty joke by an old person.
Check.
-------------------------------------------
Too dirty to post on blogosphere? yes.
Was she an 86 year old temple worker? yes.
Did I go into shock because those filthy words came out of her mouth? yes.

As i walked into the retirement home a few minutes late last night,
i noticed that the director was no where to be found. hmm.
i went upstairs to go see if the residents had already started their activity...
when all of a sudden i heard some very loud whooping and haa-ing
coming from the ancients a floor above me. what on earth?
this did not sound like they were making valentines.
I walked in, and what do i see?

Petunia had all the residents sit around her in a semi-circle
and she was doing stand up comedy while everyone was waiting
for the director to get there with our craft supplies.
Dirty stand up comedy, mind you. Shockingly dirty.
My jaw literally dropped and all i could think was..
is this real life?

So, the rest of the night consisted of:
making valentines, flower pens, telling awful jokes.
What a perfect tuesday. Seriously.

Thank you for checking off the first thing on my list,
you mean ol cuss you.
Till next week.
